Job description

Regional Early Education and Development (REED) is a multi-site Early Childhood Education and Care (ECEC) service with currently 26 centres located throughout Regional Western Australia.

About the role

The position is part time with a salary range from $70,000 per annum pro rata depending on skills and experience.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensure proper acquittal of grants.
  • Collaborate on REED's strategic financial direction.
  • Assist the Corporate Services Manager in the year-end audit.
  • Contribute to budget development, and financial management systems.
  • Assist in assessing potential mergers and contribute to future financial planning.
  • Prepare monthly financial reports for the REED senior management team and REED Board.
  • Support activities such as payroll, accounts payable, fees, debt management, and related administration.
  • Collaborate effectively within the finance team while providing assistance in financial, human resource, OHS, and records management.
  • Participate in developing and implementing financial policies and management processes, ensuring appropriate levels of review are maintained.
  • Work with the Corporate Services Manager to ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements for corporate, financial, legal, government, and ECEC services.

SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATES WILL HAVE:

  • Hold a valid WA Police Clearance.
  • Have a Working with Children Check
  • Have practical experience in payroll processes.
  • Show drive and commitment in carrying out responsibilities.
  • Understand internal control and risk management practices.
  • Demonstrate strong analytical skills and the ability to think strategically.
  • Hold a degree or higher in Accounting, Business, or Management from a recognized institution. Or tertiary/diploma qualified, with minimum 5 years accounting experience.
  • Exhibit well-developed interpersonal skills, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team. Capable of building and maintaining positive workplace relationships.
  • Possess experience in financial and budget management, with a strong understanding of accounting standards and financial processes. Familiarity with accounts preparation, financial information systems, spreadsheets, and databases is essential.
