Job summary

Tendring District Council is seeking a full-time Finance Officer to deliver a broad range of accounting and financial services. The role covers budget setting, year-end accounts, treasury management, VAT, and financial systems using Agresso, with on-site attendance two to three days per week.

The post requires strong Excel and IT skills, a good grasp of public sector finance, and the ability to work both independently and in a team, with a willingness to learn and develop within local government

Job description

A full-time Finance Officer post in the Corporate Finance Accountancy Section of Tendring District Council, giving accounting and financial advice to services across the council. The work covers budget setting and monitoring, year-end accounts, treasury management, VAT and financial systems, using the Agresso system. The role requires attendance on site for two to three days each week. AAT qualification is preferred but not required, and applicants without it will be considered.
