Finance Officer
Permanent and full..... or part-time
Neath
£30-40,000 per annum


The role is hybrid; 2 or 3 days a week from home but with an office located on the outskirts of Neath. This role will see you working alongside 2 others to provide transactional finance and management accounting support to a group of companies.Key to this role is the ability to hit the ground and keep running; you must be dynamic and technically adept with a superb work ethic.
I am looking for someone to take on the following:

  • Payroll function: Paying about 120 payees (80 monthly and 30 weekly…. But it's all annualised, so that simplifies things a little) and growing as they develop new facilities.
  • Preparing and analysing financial statements
  • Cost analysis (particularly in line with labour spend)
  • Budget reporting
  • Assisting with cash flow analysis
  • Balance sheet reconciliation
  • Transactional finance duties related to the supplier statements and purchase ledger function


You will be playing a large part in the preparation of month end as well as providing commercial analysis to manage areas of the business going forward.
I am ideally looking for someone with some robust understanding of the financial process, so ideally Part Qualified/ Finalist or a QBE with LOTS of experience of working as part of a finance team.

You will need a good understanding of Accounting Software (ideally SAGE) and experience with Excel for complex spreadsheet management. This is not an entry-level role; I anticipate the successful candidate having at least 2 years' experience in an accounting environment.


This role could work with slightly reduced hours….. The standard is 37.5, across 5 days, but there is a good degree of flexibility; you could front load your week and finish early on a Friday, slightly reduce hours to part-time in order to better facilitate school pick-up or drop-offs…… or potentially work a 4-day week around other commitments.


Salary very much depends on level of experience…… 30-35K FTE (based on 37.5 hours a week)
