  • £27,711 - £32,654 pro rata
  • 21 hours per week, 40 weeks per year

Your role

We are seeking to appoint a highly motivated and effective Finance Officer who will work within our school office team at Blundeston Primary. This role will attract individuals with previous professional finance experience or equivalent.

You will report to the administration and facilities manager, work closely with the leadership team and school communities.

Your Responsibilities

  • Develop and oversee budgets, ensuring effective financial planning and forecasting in association with the LA support team.
  • Provide strategic financial advice to the senior leadership team and governing bodies.
  • Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and reporting requirements, including audits.
  • Monitor and manage cash flow, funding, and resources to maximise efficiency.
  • Implement and maintain effective financial controls and risk management processes.
  • Support school leaders in managing their individual budgets and financial decisions.
  • Process invoices, purchase orders, VAT returns as well as reconciling with bank and local authority accounts.
  • Prepare reports for the head teacher and governors.
  • Be the first point of contact for any finance queries.
  • Have outstanding organisational skills and the ability to prioritise tasks in a busy environment.
  • Have excellent IT skills including experience working with systems such as Arbor, Excel and Word.

You will need:

You will be an effective communicator with the ability to work to a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail. You will have a strong finance background, ideally within the education sector, knowledge of budget management and financial reporting, excellent analytical skills and an ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
