Temporary Finance Officer – Kilmarnock
Contract: 3–4 months (with potential extension)
Salary: Circa £30,000 (pro rata)
Hours: Flexible working available

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Finance Officer to join our team on a temporary basis. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the delivery of a professional, efficient, and customer-focused finance service within a dynamic and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the development of finance functions, including systems, procedures, and policies to ensure effective service delivery.
  • Process purchase ledger invoices and sales ledger invoices, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Maintain robust financial processes to support budget holders across the organisation.
  • Liaise with budget holders to understand needs and provide tailored financial support.
  • Ensure compliance with Financial Regulations and Operational Procedures.
  • Assist senior finance leaders with reports and strategic developments.
  • Ensure procurement activities deliver value for money.
  • Maintain and update financial systems and databases to ensure efficiency.
  • Provide cross-cover and collaborative support within the Finance Team across all sites.
  • Deliver excellent customer-focused assistance to staff, service users, and external contacts.
  • Uphold strong security arrangements, cash management procedures, and compliance with organisational policies.
About You
  • Previous experience in purchase ledger is essential.
  • Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to build effective relationships with colleagues and stakeholders.
  • A background in finance or accounting with hands-on experience in ledger processing.
