Due to an internal promotion, we have a new opportunity for aFinance Officer to join our Finance Team.

You will support the Finance Teamin delivering accurate and timely financial information, ensuring robustfinancial controls, and contributing to the development of financial systemsand processes. The Finance Officer willbridge the gap between transactional processing and management reporting, supportingboth operational and strategic finance functions.

Main duties of the job

The ideal candidate for this rolewill be AAT qualified or working towards or have the equivalentexperience. You will have experiencewith computerised accounting systems and preparing balance sheet reconciliations. As well as excellent communication skills,you will be self-motivated, resilient and have the ability to adapt tofrequently changing priorities and demands.

Tosupport the Finance team in delivering accurate and timely financialinformation, ensuring robustfinancial controls, and contributing to the development of financial systemsand processes.The Finance Officer will bridge the gap between transactional processing and managementreporting, supporting both operational and strategic finance functions.

SAFEGUARDING RESPONSIBILITIES

Maintain an awareness of the Hospices policiesin relation to safeguarding

KEYRESPONSIBILITIES

Line management and development of financial administration team andvolunteers with oversight of all transactional processes to ensure accurate andtimely provision of services

Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts, includingjournal entries, accruals, and prepayments.

Perform regular balance sheet reconciliations and investigatediscrepancies.

Maintain and update the Fixed Asset Register.

Oversee the accuracy of income and expenditure postings, liaising withrelevant departments.

Contribute to the development and documentation of financial proceduresand internal controls.

Organise/provide cover for key finance functions such as accountspayable, treasury and accounts receivable during periods of absence.

Assist with year-end processes and preparation of audit schedules.

Contribute to ad-hoc projects as required

GENERAL

Where you are a member of a professional bodyyou are required to conform to the professional standards set by that body. Youare required to ensure your registration is current and practice continuousprofessional development;

Because of the special nature of the hospice andits work the post holder may on occasion be asked to undertake other duties tohelp maintain our high standard of care; to uphold the hospice values at alltimes.
