Job description

Job Title: Finance Officer

Overview:
A growing organisation is looking to appoint a diligent and proactive Finance Officer to join its finance team. This individual will be pivotal in supporting day-to-day financial activities, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring compliance with internal and external financial standards. Experience with Sage 50 software is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage supplier and vendor payments, ensuring prompt and correct disbursements.
  • Update and reconcile accounts using Sage 50, ensuring all records are maintained accurately.
  • Carry out financial data entry, ensuring all transactions are logged precisely.
  • Reconcile monthly HMRC postponed VAT reports with internal accounting records.
  • Process incoming and outgoing invoices and credit notes in multiple currencies, including GBP, EUR, and USD.
  • Handle payroll administration for a team of up to 20 staff, including processing timesheets, contracts, leaver paperwork, and pension enrolments through an external HR system.
  • Assist with the compilation of monthly financial reports, including income and expenditure statements.
  • Support external accountants in the preparation of year-end accounts and input any required journal adjustments.
  • Ensure strict compliance with company policies and financial regulations, always maintaining confidentiality.
  • Provide administrative support across the department and take on ad hoc tasks as required.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Background in finance or accounting, ideally with experience in professional services.
  • Solid understanding of accounts payable procedures.
  • Proficient user of Sage 50 Accounts and Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent accuracy and attention to detail in data processing.
  • Strong multitasking ability, capable of working to deadlines.
  • Analytical and methodical approach to problem-solving.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Comfortable working autonomously in a busy office setting.

Salary: 30,000- 35,000 per annum
Contract Type: Full-time
Work Pattern: Monday to Friday
Work Location: Office-based
