Job description

Dedicate Recruitment is proud to be partnering with a prestigious independent School in mid Kent, seeking a dynamic Finance Officer with a passion for numbers, coupled with strong management accounting experience.

Reporting to the Finance Manager and working closely with the Finance Director, the Finance Officer will be responsible for maintaining accurate and timely accounting records, managing cash operations, producing financial statements and monthly management accounts for the schools' numerous enterprises.

The Finance Officers' key responsibilities are to:

  • Maintain cashbooks, manage banking processes, reconcile accounts, and support financial forecasting.
  • Deliver monthly management accounts and annual statements for the school's trading companies, monitoring intercompany transactions.
  • Producing balance sheets, accruals, prepayments and project costing
  • Monitor budgeting, stock control, supplier agreements, and pricing for the School Shop whilst driving operational efficiency and revenue growth.
  • VAT submissions and utility accounts to debt monitoring and fixed asset tracking

You will be educated to GCSE standard, including English and Maths, with a minimum three years experience in accounting. Working with a collaborative team, you will bring solid analytical and reporting skills and the confidence in managing budgets.

Experience of Sage is desirable with strong Excel skills. You will be an exceptional team player, with exemplary attention to detail plus a good sense of humour!

This is a six month contract, onsite and full time. No hybrid working available.
