About Our Client

Job Description

  • Manage, support, and develop a team of 2, including hiring, setting objectives, performance management, guidance, and training.
  • Ensure timely completion of quarterly close activities, monitor team deliverables, and facilitate issue resolution.
  • Prepare financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and flux schedules, and follow up on variances.
  • Review and approve key postings and deliverables before period close.
  • Collaborate with local, EMEA, and US teams to bridge knowledge gaps, resolve issues, and implement new systems and processes.
  • Approve all journals and intercompany invoices over $1m.
  • Approve monthly and quarterly balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Maintain EMEA centre of excellence status and liaise with EMEA and US teams to ensure compliance.
  • Ensure adherence to accounting policies for various types of content and transactions.
  • Oversee system setups for assets, liabilities, and payments, advising the team on issue resolution.
  • Prepare and analyze EMEA BS Flux and Media P&L Flux, investigating variances and providing feedback.
  • Lead quarterly close calls with leadership teams.
  • Partner with local finance and US teams to drive change and add value.
  • Coordinate with external auditors and attend audit calls.
  • Ensure compliance with Sarbanes Oxley and Disney Control Standards.
  • Identify and implement process improvements for efficiency.
  • Manage legal entity rationalization activities.

The Successful Applicant

  • Qualified CIMA/ACCA/ACA with at least 5 years' post-qualified experience.
  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • Experience with SAP.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Critical analysis and questioning skills.
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and adapt.
  • Effective interpersonal skills across organizational levels.
