Job description

An opportunity has arisen for a Finance Manager to lead financial operations and support the Management Team. In this full time, permanent role, you will oversee the full accounting process for the company on a daily basis. You should have proven experience in a similar role with an SME, strong IT and communication skills and a proactive approach.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Overseeing day-to-day financial operations, including reconciliations of bank accounts and ledgers, payroll processing, VAT submissions, sales invoicing, credit control, and journal entries.
  • Taking full responsibility for the accounting function, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance across all areas.
  • Ensuring financial data is accurately recorded and processes are completed efficiently.
  • Implementing and maintaining effective accounting practices to support financial integrity and internal controls.
  • Collaborating closely with the Managing Director and other departments, providing key financial input and support.
  • Supervising and guiding finance staff, ensuring tasks are carried out to a high standard and in line with company procedures.
  • Serving as a point of contact for finance-related queries, offering clear and professional communication to both staff and customers.
  • Working independently using initiative to prioritise tasks and address issues as they arise.
  • Providing regular financial insights and support to assist wider business operations.
  • Uphold confidentiality and maintain professional standards in all financial matters.

About You:

  • You have strong experience in financial management, with a proven background in accounting procedures and team supervision.
  • You’re highly organised, self-motivated, and equipped with excellent IT and communication skills.
  • You’re confident managing the entire finance process, including preparing for year-end and supporting External Accountants.
  • Your approach is friendly and positive, with a practical mindset focused on solving problems efficiently.
  • You work well both independently and as part of a close-knit team, supporting colleagues and wider business needs.
