Job summary

Cancer Research UK is seeking a Finance Manager to lead budgeting, forecasting and financial planning across major research investments. You will partner with senior leaders to provide insight, drive strategic financial decisions and deliver high-quality reporting for a large, complex organisation.

The role requires a qualified accountant and strong FP&A, with a proven ability to influence stakeholders and manage in a matrix environment. Hybrid London office.

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
• Significant experience in Finance Business Partnering, FP&A, Strategic Finance or Management Accounting.
• Strong financial planning, forecasting, modelling and reporting experience.
• Proven ability to influence and challenge senior stakeholders.
• Excellent analytical skills with the ability to turn complex data into clear, actionable insight.
• Strong communication skills with the confidence to explain financial information to non-finance audiences.
• Experience working effectively within a matrix environment.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Directors and senior stakeholders to provide financial insight, analysis and decision support.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting and long-term financial planning activities for designated business areas.
• Develop financial models, business cases and scenario analysis to support strategic decision-making.
• Deliver meaningful financial reporting, identifying trends, risks, opportunities and future implications.
• Challenge and influence stakeholders to improve financial understanding and support effective decision-making.
• Build strong relationships across the organisation and support delivery of the Finance Strategy.
• Coach and support Finance Analysts and Management Accountants through matrix management and mentoring.
• Drive continuous improvement in financial processes, reporting and analysis.
