Job summary

Derby City Council is seeking a Finance Manager Inclusion to lead strategic financial planning and monitoring for SEND and Inclusion. You will coordinate with corporate finance, ensure robust governance and design a new operating model to support reform initiatives.

The role requires delivery of accurate financial records, strong communication and cross‑team collaboration within a dynamic public sector environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in resource management including the DSG.
• Knowledge of education funding and associated grant streams.
• Proven budget monitoring experience with reporting to boards.
• Ability to design and deliver value for money for Derby communities.
• Attention to accuracy and timeliness of financial records and reconciliations.

Responsibilities

• Lead strategic financial planning, forecasting and budget management for SEND and Inclusion.
• Coordinate with corporate finance teams for accurate monitoring and sustainable outcomes.
• Design and embed a new financial operating model to support reform initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with the Council's financial regulations and governance.
