Job description

This position will play a key role in providing accurate and timely revenue and cost of sales accounting and reporting in the UK Processing division. You will work with complex data within a key component of the overall P&L and manage key stakeholder relationships across multiple functions within the business.

Responsibilities
  1. Ensure that revenue and cost of sales are correctly accounted for each month across each business within UK Processing.
  2. Ensure that intercompany transactions are correctly recorded, using knowledge of business operations across the UK.
  3. Review gross margin and explain variances to budget and KPIs.
  4. Work with the FP&A team to align the accounting and reporting with weekly insight reports, correctly reflecting operational performance.
  5. Investigate and resolve queries and discrepancies, collaborating with the wider finance, IT, and Operations teams.
  6. Interrogate the systems (SAGE and Workday accounting systems, AMCS Waste system, BI dashboard) to ensure accurate reporting.
  7. Ensure robust accounting of revenue and cost of sales accruals on the balance sheet.
  8. Present monthly results to FC, FD, and CFO.
  9. Assist with annual budget and external audit in relation to sales and cost of sales.
  10. Assist with embedding the new ERP system.
  11. Manage and develop one direct report, a Management Accountant.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA).
  • Strong financial control experience, both P&L and Balance Sheet.
  • Proactive approach to resolving queries.
  • Strong collaborative style.
  • Diligent approach.
  • Confident communicator.
  • Experience of working in industry & commerce is preferable.
