Finance Manager - Public Sector (SEND)

Contract Type: Interim (Hybrid - 1 day a week in office)

Location: Huddersfield, HD1

Daily Rate: £500

We are looking for a Finance Manager to provide expert financial oversight specifically in the areas of High Needs Safety Valve and Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) expenditure. This role is crucial for managing complex financial tasks within the public sector.

Day-to-day of the role
  • No line management responsibilities.
  • Sole responsibility for SEND and High Needs Safety Valve expenditure.
  • Requires a strong understanding of local authority finance structures.
  • Utilise SAP for financial systems and reporting.
  • Attend Senior Leadership Agreement (SLA) meetings.
Required Skills & Qualifications
  • Essential:
    • Local authority experience.
    • Strong understanding of SEND and High Needs finance.
    • Ability to hit the ground running with minimal onboarding.
    • Qualified accountant or qualified by experience with a proven track record.
    • Experience presenting at senior leadership level.
  • Desirable/Transferable:
    • Central government experience.
    • Experience in school funding.
    • Flexibility on line management experience for the second role.
