About the Role

We are looking for a Philippines-based English-speaking qualified accountant to manage day-to-day finance tasks and support with grant administration. Reporting to the CFO, we are looking for someone passionate about our cause with a good eye for detail. We’re a growing start-up with plenty of room for progression and making the role your own.

Key Responsibilities
  • Responsibility for carrying out daily bookkeeping tasks for a UK and US entity
  • Liaising with the team to ensure record-keeping is complete
  • Bank reconciliations
  • Maintenance of sales and purchase ledgers
  • Preparing schedules for payment runs
  • Maintenance of the fixed asset register
  • Processing monthly accounting journals (accruals, prepayments, deferred income, etc)
  • Intercompany journals and reconciliations
  • Maintaining balance sheet supporting schedules on a monthly basis
  • Variance analysis and support with monthly management accounts
  • Support with year-end accounts
  • Support with other reporting requirements as needed
  • Preparation of UK VAT returns
  • Support with grant administration
  • Supporting the CFO and Senior Leadership Team as required with finance and administrative tasks
About You
  • Fluent in written and spoken English
  • Qualified accountant with 2+ years experience
  • Experienced using Xero accounting software
  • Confident dealing with multiple currencies
  • You are familiar with UK VAT
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Consistent and efficient approach to tasks
  • Ability to overlap with UK timezone
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, with a small team and dealing with senior management
  • Willingness to be flexible and grow with the role

Desirable:

  • Experience of Pleo spend management software
  • Experience of working in a start-up environment
  • Comfortable working with international teams and cultures

  • PHP 60,000 to 80,000 per month depending on experience
