Job description

Element are pleased to have been engaged by a global company in Radstock for the appointment of a Finance Manager, on a part time basis. This role is 30 hours across the week, and sitting with a close knit finance team.

Role & Responsibilities

• Improve and maintain efficient accounting processes and controls

• Prepare monthly journals, including accruals and prepayments

• Produce accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports

• Lead the budgeting and forecasting process alongside senior management

• Monitor financial performance and provide analysis and insights to support decisions

• Manage cash flow and working capital, including rolling forecasts

• Act as the main contact for the Holding company, auditors, and external accountants

• Ensure compliance with VAT regulations and accurate submissions

• Support strategic planning with clear, data-driven financial input

• Keep financial records in line with best practice and internal policies

Key Characteristics

• Solid technical accounting background with full AAT qualification (or equivalent)

• Proficient in Sage and advanced Microsoft Excel

• Confident preparing financial statements, management accounts, and VAT returns

• Hands-on experience in Accounts Payable and Receivable

• Strong skills in bank reconciliations and maintaining accurate financial records

• Experience with annual budgeting and monthly cash flow forecasting

• High attention to detail and strong analytical abilities

• Organised, self-motivated, and able to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines

• Effective communicator with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team

• Comfortable working with external auditors and supporting or guiding junior team members
