About the role
We are looking for a Finance Manager to join the Boots UK Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) team, reporting to Head of Finance Operations & Property. This role covers key area within Operations of Retail & Pharmacy Loss, Store Costs and Central Operations
As a Finance Manager, you will take a leading role in supporting management of ~£250M of costs and will contribute to wider FP&A initiatives. This position offers an excellent opportunity for career development and to gain experience that will support progression into more senior finance roles.
You will collaborate closely with stakeholders across Operations and Finance, including senior leadership, providing financial insight and support that drives performance and informed decision-making.
Key responsibilities
Be the finance Manager of designated teams by:
• Lead the budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning processes in collaboration with key partners.
• Prepare and analyse monthly management reporting, including variance analysis and measurements.
• Deliver insightful financial analysis and models to support strategic programs, business cases, and investment decisions.
• Partner with operational and commercial teams to provide financial guidance and challenge assumptions where needed.
• Own and improve financial models, forecasting tools, and reporting systems to enhance planning accuracy and efficiency.
• Support the month-end close process in partnership with the Accounting team, including accruals, reclasses, and financial commentary.
• Create and provide regular updates to senior leadership on financial performance, risks, and opportunities.
• Drive continuous improvement in planning processes, systems, and reporting automation
• Lead the month end planning and consolidation of monthly Exec review pack for Operations
• Ability to deputise for the Head of Finance, including representing the Finance team in senior leadership forums, providing strategic insight, and influencing key business decisions
• Lead development of a finance analyst and play a part in talent development in wider team
