Finance Manager NICS (Exclusive Permanent Opportunity), Belfast

Vanrath is delighted to be exclusively partnering with a Civil Service ALB to recruit a Finance Manager for their Belfast-based finance team.

The Finance Manager will provide high-quality financial information to plan, manage, and account for expenditure using financial reporting and management information systems. They will also lead the finance team to produce financial and management accounts, and advise on budget management.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Develop and present monthly management accounts to the Executive Team.
  2. Provide accurate and timely financial and statistical returns.
  3. Complete financial exercises commissioned by the sponsoring Department.
  4. Set, monitor, and report on performance against budgets.
  5. Provide financial support to budget holders.
  6. Produce and review monthly and year-end financial accounts.
  7. Maintain good relationships with Internal Auditors and NIAO.
  8. Prepare input for whole of government accounts.
  9. Provide effective leadership to the Finance team.
Qualifications:

Professional Experience: Minimum of 5 years in accounting or financial management, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role. Experience in the public sector is highly desirable.

Professional Certifications: Qualified accountant with a recognized professional body (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, ICAEW, CIPFA).
