musicMagpie are on a mission to make tech more affordable and help protect the planet by encouraging recycling, refurbishing and repurposing tech and entertainment products. They give millions of customers a smart, sustainable and trusted way to buy, rent and sell phones, tablets, games consoles, laptops and other tech - all in one place.

If you love a fast-paced environment and want to make a real impact, this could be the role for you!

This is more than just a finance role. It's a chance to be part of something big, driving the future of a growing, sustainable business. You'll work closely with teams across AO and musicMagpie, helping shape the way we do things while keeping a close eye on the numbers. If you're looking for a challenge where you can roll up your sleeves and make a difference, we'd love to hear from you!

  • Running the month-end process - keeping everything on track and tackling any issues along the way.
  • Preparing and reviewing management accounts, covering P&L, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
  • Taking the lead on year-end close, working with auditors, and drafting statutory accounts.
  • Supporting and developing the finance team, making sure they're set up for success.
  • Providing ad-hoc reporting to the musicMagpie senior leadership team and AO Group.
  • Being the go-to person when the Head of Finance needs a backup, stepping in when required.

  • Strong technical knowledge of IFRS and financial controls.
  • Advanced Excel skills, and if you've worked with ERP systems like Sage Intacct or D365, even better!
  • A proactive, hands-on approach - someone who thrives in a fast-moving environment.
  • Brilliant stakeholder management and business partnering skills.
A Bit About Us

At musicMagpie, we make it easy, affordable and sustainable for people to buy, sell, and rent tech and media products.

As a pioneer in the circular economy, we've built a trusted platform through our brands, musicMagpie in the UK and Decluttr in the US, using our circular model of recycling, refurbishing, reselling and renting products to give tech a second life and help to reduce e-waste on a massive scale. Our environmental and social focus is demonstrated by our 'Smart for you... Smart for the planet' ethos.

And the impact? In 2022 alone, our UK consumer tech and disc media customers and trade partners helped to save over 43,000 tonnes of CO2 by buying, selling and renting with us - that's equivalent to powering over 50,000 flights from London to New York or heating over 16,000 homes!

Over 9 million customers have used our award-winning service, and we've paid out hundreds of millions for their unwanted technology, reselling over 400,000 tech items a year. We're also the largest seller on Amazon and eBay, by number of seller reviews, and our excellent Trustpilot rating (with over 310,000 reviews!) shows just how much people trust us.
Our Benefits

By joining musicMagpie, you won't just be working a job - you'll be part of a company that's making a real difference, redefining how people buy and sell tech, and shaping a greener, more sustainable future. Plus, you'll have the chance to learn, grow and innovate alongside a team that's friendly, supportive and always looking ahead!

We know that a happy team makes for a great workplace, so we offer amazing perks to support you inside and outside of work:
