Job summary

The CFO HQ in Harrogate is seeking an experienced Finance Manager to take responsibility for financial reporting, control and broader financial management across several group entities. The role involves commercial engagement with the business owner and oversight of a small accounts team.

The position extends beyond traditional reporting to include banking, tax planning, adviser relationships and involvement in property and corporate transactions.

Qualifications

• ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualification or substantial relevant experience.
• Strong experience in management accounts, balance sheet reconciliations and financial controls.
• Experience in property investment/real estate or privately owned groups is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reporting across four group companies.
• Manage month-end processes including journals, reconciliations, balance sheet reviews and maintaining accurate financial records.
• Oversee a small accounts team, provide guidance, review work and maintain effective financial controls.
• Review and approve property service charge budgets and oversee the property portfolio finances.
• Manage banking arrangements across multiple accounts and group entities including cash balances, payments and available funds.
• Liaise with external accountants and advisers on corporate tax compliance and statutory obligations.
• Work with advisers on tax-efficient strategies for corporate and personal tax liabilities.
• Engage with solicitors on property and asset disposals.
• Ensure financial and statutory compliance across the group including audits and regulatory reporting.
