Job summary

Howett Thorpe are delighted to be partnering with an established group to recruit a Finance Manager into its London-based finance team.

This role offers a broad remit across management accounting, financial control, transactional oversight and team development, with progression toward the Head of Finance as the business continues to modernise finance processes and explore automation and AI to improve efficiency and data quality.

Qualifications

• Finalist or newly qualified CIMA/ACA/ACCA or equivalent qualification.
• 3+ years in a commercial finance environment.
• Experience in management accounting and financial reporting.
• Strong balance sheet reconciliations and financial controls.
• Experience with VAT and statutory reporting.
• Experience mentoring junior finance staff.

Responsibilities

• Oversee monthly management accounts, journals, accruals, and prepayments.
• Ensure monthly reporting is accurate and on time.
• Maintain balance sheet integrity through reconciliations.
• Oversee bank reconciliations across accounts and currencies.
• Manage and develop a junior accountant.
• Lead process improvement and automation initiatives with AI.
• Provide financial information to support decision-making.
