Finance Manager – HRA Support (Hybrid) needed in Swindon, £40.04ph PAYE - Reference: OR8017

3 days per week in the office

We are seeking an experienced Finance Manager with knowledge of Local Government Housing Revenue Account to review and redraft the budget for the service. Familiarity with all relevant Local Government Housing Legislation is essential.

The role includes:

  1. Compiling detailed revenue and capital estimates for the budget.
  2. Closing annual accounts in accordance with corporate deadlines.
  3. Completing government and statistical returns within deadlines.
  4. Providing financial support to Budget Managers and staff involved in financial transactions, including:
  • Providing accurate and timely information and advice.
  • Identifying and meeting training needs.
  • Ensuring compliance with Financial Regulations and Contract Standing Orders.
  • Developing financial systems suited to managers' needs.
  • Maximising income sources and ensuring effective collection systems.
  • Assisting in preparing reports for elected Members and the public regarding financial issues, and deputising for the Head of Finance at Committee meetings as needed.
  • Adapting to changing financial regimes, legislation, and policies, assessing their financial implications.
  • This is a full-time, temporary contract role.
