Job description

Finance Manager – HRA Support (Hybrid) needed in Swindon, £40.04ph
PAYE – Reference: OR8017

3 days per week in the office

You will ideally have experience with Local Government Housing Revenue Account to review and redraft the budget for the service, with a strong familiarity with all applicable Local Government Housing Legislation.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Compiling detailed revenue and capital estimates for the budget.
  2. Closing the annual accounts in line with corporate deadlines.
  3. Completing government and statistical returns within published deadlines.
  4. Providing financial support to Budget Managers and staff involved in financial transactions, including:
  • Providing accurate and timely information and advice.
  • Identifying and meeting training needs.
  • Ensuring compliance with Financial Regulations and Contract Standing Orders.
  • Developing financial systems suitable for managers' needs.
  • Maximizing income sources and ensuring effective collection systems.
  • Assisting in preparing reports for elected Members and the public regarding financial issues, and deputizing for the Head of Finance at Committee meetings when needed.
  • Undertaking development work in response to changing financial regimes, legislation, and policy changes, including assessing financial implications.
  • This is a full-time role on a temporary contract basis.
