Job description

We have partnered exclusively with Sintela to recruit their next Finance Manager.

Sintela Limited, based in Pill, Bristol (UK), is a cutting-edge technology company that turns standard fibre-optic cables into advanced sensors. Their systems use a technology called Distributed Acoustic Sensing (DAS), which allows these fibres to "listen" for changes such as vibrations, strain, or temperature—essentially transforming existing fibre networks into real-time monitoring tools.

Their technology is boosted by AI-powered analytics, trained on over 1 million hours of real-world data. This helps reduce false alarms and accurately classify events, making the systems both smart and reliable.

Sintela has been involved in several high-profile international projects, including a $35 million contract to support the U.S. government’s border security program helping detect activity and threats along long stretches of border.

They are also active in global energy and infrastructure through a network of tier-one partners and supporting smart cities, critical national infrastructure, and mining operations

Reporting directly to the FD and working closely with the CEO this is a broad and hands-on finance role in a growing, agile business. You will be the face of finance locally and cover everything from transactional processes to commercial strategy and operational finance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare monthly consolidated management accounts and assist FD with Board reporting
  • Provide a monthly balance sheet reconciliation file to the FD
  • Provide supporting information related to financial audits
  • Ensure all paper and electronic-based transactions are captured and posted on a daily basis
  • To provide overhead cost code analysis for inclusion in the management accounts
  • Prepare 13-week cash flow projections
  • Creditor and credit control management, including preparing supplier payments and credit control.
  • Prepare costing information to the CEO/FD
  • Assist the FD with financial control and cash flow reporting for Sintela Inc.
  • Review business processes which impact the financial systems and recommend areas of improvement
  • Undertake any ad hoc projects within the normal competence of the job holder

To succeed in this role you will be an adaptable, proactive, and hands-on finance professional:

  • A part-qualified or newly qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
  • Experience across both management and financial accounting
  • Willingness to roll up your sleeves and “muck in” as part of a small, fast-moving team
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of tasks
  • Comfortable working in a scaling business with international operations

This is a real opportunity to undertake a varied and high-impact role working alongside a supportive and experienced FD. It is an opportunity to contribute to the strategic direction of a tech company with global reach and develop into a senior financeleadership position as the business grows. On offer to you is a competitive salary, strong benefits, and a mentoring environment. You can be part of a highly motivated team making a real-world impact in infrastructure and security.
