Role Description

Channel 4’s Finance department acts as a trusted advisor to the business, supporting decision making through insightful analysis and accurate reporting. Our goal is to ensure the sustainability of Channel 4 through strong financial controls and compliance.

Purpose of the Role

The Finance Manager, Group Financial Reporting, will be part of the Group Reporting and Control team, responsible for supporting financial discipline, leading internal and external reporting, and working with the organization on financial guidance and process improvements.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate year-end process, external audits, and assurance engagements.
• Act as a primary contact for external auditors, providing support and analysis.
• Prepare accounting papers and financial updates for committees.
• Support sustainability reporting and automation efforts.
• Review statutory accounts and coordinate Whole of Government Accounts reporting.

Monthly and Quarterly Reporting

• Deliver financial reports to stakeholders, support consolidation, and monitor KPIs.
• Assist in quarterly balance sheet reviews and financial analysis.

Risk and Control Environment

• Support key control processes and contribute to systems transformation projects.
• Maintain control documentation.

Business Support

• Provide technical accounting advice and improve reporting systems.
• Stay updated on IFRS standards and accounting developments.

Qualifications, Experience, Skills

• ACA / ACCA qualified with 5+ years of experience.
• Knowledge of IFRS, group accounting, and annual reporting.
• Ability to work under tight deadlines, communicate effectively, and develop relationships.

Desirable Requirements

• Media industry experience, Oracle financials, Workday Adaptive Planning, advanced Excel skills.
