The EU FP&A Team

The European FP&A team combines data analytics and business reporting with financial planning and profitability analysis. It oversees the implementation of EU strategies, manages the three-year strategic plan, conducts live re-forecasting, reviews partner profitability, assesses new partnerships and acquisitions, and supports risk management and decision-making processes.

Job Description

As the company continues to grow rapidly, there is an opportunity for an ambitious, hands-on Manager to help develop the FP&A team into a best-in-class function, setting it up for long-term success.

This role offers the chance to collaborate closely with Finance, Legal and Compliance, Partnership, and Operations teams. It provides variety in a fast-paced environment where you can make an immediate impact and be recognized for your contributions. You will work within a dynamic team, encouraged to identify challenges and propose solutions to improve overall performance.

Job Responsibilities

Decision Support:

  • Partner account management: reviewing profitability and modeling potential changes to commercial terms (ad hoc and regular)
  • Monitoring performance against targets at the partner account level
  • Conducting ad hoc financial modeling, sensitivity analysis, and scenario planning to understand business changes and identify opportunities and risks

Profitability Monitoring:

  • Reviewing monthly reports prepared by Analytics and monitoring variances to plan/reforecast
  • Investigating movements between actual and budgeted performance, providing insights into underlying causes
  • Supporting the Financial Control team during close periods to understand variances
  • Maintaining and reporting on product profitability by client/tier/cohort to identify improvement opportunities or risks

Budgets, Forecasting & Operational Planning:

  • Participating in the entire planning cycle, including budgets, 3-year plans, and regular forecasts
  • Compiling business forecasts used for operational planning

Attributes & Profile:

  • Collaborative: comfortable working with non-finance teams to reach commercial agreements

Qualifications
  • Excellent academic record with a 2:1 degree or higher
  • ACA or CIMA qualification
  • Ability to present effectively to stakeholders
  • Strong understanding of US GAAP and IFRS
  • Knowledge of the insurance industry is a plus
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, working effectively with all levels
  • Proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office applications
