Railpen is seeking a Finance Manager for Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) on a 12-month secondment in Darlington. The candidate will manage important financial processes, ensuring stakeholder engagement, high-quality reporting, and continuous improvement within the Finance team. The ideal individual will possess strong Excel skills and a track record of delivering insightful analysis.
We have an incredible opportunity for a Finance Manager – Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) to join our Finance team on a secondment basis for a period of 12 months based in our Darlington office (hybrid working).

The role
The Finance Manager (FP&A) will be accountable for managing the delivery of planning, reporting and analysis activities within FP&A.You will be responsible for stakeholder engagement with the business to ensure the delivery of insightful management and strategic reporting. This role will also look to identify areas for continuous improvement across FP&A processes and systems, in terms of both quality and efficiency, and facilitate automation where feasible.
This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship. Applicants must have the legal right to work in the UK.
The person
The successful candidate will havethe ability to co-ordinate financial planning processes and their production, ensuring financial rigour. You will have a track record of meeting stakeholder requirements by ensuring that reporting principles and governance are adhered to. Knowledge of planning and performance processes, including annual budget, periodic forecast, and business reviews and an ability to identify opportunities for continuous improvement is key. You will be proficient in Microsoft Excel to enable you to effectively produce relevant reports and analysis within FP&A.

To succeed in this role, high attention to detail and the ability to prioritise your workload to meet the various deadlines is key. We are looking for an individual who is self-directed and can take ownership of tasks, who’s keen to role model a positive can-do attitude and high standards in delivery.
