Job description

We are looking for a Qualified ACA/ACCA Accountant to work within a Global Broking and Futures Trading business. It is a hybrid position, 3 days in the office and 2 from home.

Reporting directly to the Financial Controller, this role offers an exciting opportunity to join the senior management team of this fast-growing internationally focused digital business.

This role provides experienced accounting & coordination on a variety of key finance operations for a significant number of the UK businesses and overseas legal entities within the Group.

The person in this role will be responsible as part of a team for the accurate and timely delivery of all day-to-day finance operations for all assigned legal entities including management reporting and statutory accounting.

We are looking for a qualified accountant who is proficient in delivering results in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and can collaborate effectively across the wider finance team and with senior stakeholders across a number of functions.

Responsibilities:

  1. Responsible for quarterly FCA reporting.
  2. Oversee end-to-end finance operations for in-scope entities.
  3. Responsible for timely production of monthly management accounts and related management information, including P&L, balance sheet & cash flows for in-scope entities.
  4. Review & challenge all the monthly management accounts, supporting schedules & reports, understanding all key movements.
  5. Thorough review of the balance sheet and balance sheet reconciliations, providing commentary and analysis where needed.
  6. Drive the continuous improvements to financial processes, automation reporting and controls.
  7. Assist in ensuring all statutory reporting deadlines are met for in-scope entities, including annual accounts and tax filings.
  8. Manage the audit process of the in-scope entities, liaising with external auditors and preparing schedules for auditors as required.
  9. Lead and develop a team of assistant accountants to ensure all reporting requirements are met and provide support and guidance to help develop team members.
  10. Assist the Financial Controller in leading the UK finance function, identifying ways to increase efficiency and growth opportunities.
  11. Identify and support improvements within the business.
  12. Contribute to key finance projects as needed.
  13. Additional / ad hoc duties as required to meet the needs of the Group.

Skills and Qualifications:

  1. Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA or equivalent), ideally with first-time passes (would suit an accountant up to five years post-qualified experience).
  2. Strong academic track record, including 2:1 or above at a top-tier university.
  3. Experience at a top 10 accountancy practice or within a large international business.
  4. Good IT skills, experience with accounting systems advantageous (SUN Systems, Workday Financials).
  5. A keen interest in the global economy.
