Job summary

NOVENCO Building & Industry UK Ltd is seeking a commercially minded Finance Manager in Melksham to lead financial planning, forecasting, and project profitability across the UK. The role partners with the UK Managing Director and group finance in Denmark to strengthen governance and drive profitability.

You will manage monthly reporting, budgeting, and project reviews, while ensuring contractual and payment terms are aligned with business objectives.

Qualifications

• Qualified or part-qualified ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent professional qualification.
• Experience in engineering, construction, manufacturing, or project-based environments where project profitability and commercial performance are key drivers.
• Strong understanding of financial planning, forecasting, budgeting, project accounting, WIP, cost control, and financial reporting.

Responsibilities

• Partner with the UK Managing Director and leadership team to improve commercial performance through monthly reporting, financial insights, and actionable recommendations across the UK business.
• Lead forecasting and budgeting across revenue, order intake, project performance, SG&A, and annual business planning.
• Perform monthly P&L variance analysis against budget and prior year, identifying key financial drivers and actions to improve profitability.
• Drive monthly project financial reviews with Project Managers, strengthening budgeting, WIP management, cost control and forecasting accuracy.
• Review customer contracts and variations to identify financial and contractual risks before project acceptance.
• Collaborate with Project Managers, Sales, Operations and Group Finance to ensure invoices, payment terms and change controls are managed throughout the project lifecycle.
