Farnell, an Avnet company, is seeking a Finance Manager for the EMEA region in Leeds. The role is hybrid, combining 2 days from home with 3 days in the office, reporting to the Finance team. You will lead general ledger, margin and inventory accounting with a focus on accurate month-end close and SOX controls.

The ideal candidate is qualified or QBE with extensive accounting experience, strong Excel skills and ability to collaborate across teams. A competitive package is offered.

Responsibilities

• Ensure accurate monthly Gross Margin Accounting for Farnell EMEA.
• Ownership of Farnell EMEA inventory valuation & related SOX requirements.
• Line management responsibility of the Margin Accountant.
• Work with the wider business on inventory & Gross Margin issues, resolving accounting questions.
• Prepare journal entries, provisions, accruals, and finance queries.
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations & monthly closings.
• Active role in period-end close and coordinating with overseas BPO as needed.
• Contribute to continuous improvement projects.
• Provide coverage for the Senior Finance Manager when required.
• Other duties as assigned.

We are looking for a qualified or QBE, with experience in general ledger and financial records within various general accounting functions. We are particularly interested in experience of inventory and Gross Margin accounting.You will be responsible for collecting and analysing multiple different financial data sets and overseeing the successful and accurate closure of the month-end process for multiple ledgers across EMEA.This role is for an inquisitive minded and highly organised individual who can work collaboratively as part of a busy team and build strong relationships with wider stakeholders.You will also get involved in a wide range of activities including; Preparing reports, statements, analyses and/or recommendations for internal and/or external use.
