Job summary

Kettlethorpe High School is seeking an experienced Finance Manager to lead financial management, budgeting and reporting. You will manage a circa £13 million budget, prepare forecasts, support budget holders, ensure regulatory compliance and drive financial efficiency across the school.

The role requires strong leadership, a recognised finance qualification or substantial equivalent experience, and the ability to communicate complex financial information to non-financial colleagues.

• Experience in budget setting and financial reporting.

• Proven leadership and people management experience.
• Ability to communicate complex financial information to non-financial colleagues.
• Experience in the education sector is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead the school’s financial management systems and processes.
• Set and monitor a budget of approximately £13 million.
• Prepare budget forecasts and financial reports.
• Support budget holders with financial planning and monitoring expenditure.
• Ensure compliance with financial regulations, internal controls and audit requirements.
• Assist with funding bids, actively contributing to income generation and developing additional funding streams.
• Overseeing purchasing, invoicing and income collection processes.
• Liaising with the local authority, auditors and external stakeholders.
• Leading and developing the finance team to maintain high standards of service and efficiency.
• Identifying opportunities for financial efficiencies whilst supporting the school’s strategic objectives.
