For our client, an innovative pharmaceutical company with a site based near Liverpool, United Kingdom, we are searching for a:

Finance Manager - Direct Tax International – German speaking – (Ref. 2567)

Liverpool Area, United Kingdom

As Finance Manager Direct Tax Europe, you will oversee US tax reporting and local compliance for Germany and other European markets, support global tax and transfer pricing initiatives, manage tax risks, and ensure timely, accurate filings aligned with local and global requirements.

• Oversee direct tax compliance and US tax reporting for Germany and other European markets
• Lead local tax filings, audits, and risk management, including acting as German Tax Compliance Officer
• Support transfer pricing documentation and global tax initiatives
• Provide tax advice to local finance teams and ensure compliance with changing regulations
• Prepare US GAAP tax provisions, projections, and related financial reporting
• Maintain strong internal controls and ensure Sarbanes-Oxley compliance
• Liaise with cross-functional teams and external advisers to assess and manage tax risks
• Lead and develop the tax team, manage budgets, and promote a high-performance culture

Your profile

• Degree and certified tax advisor (or local equivalent)
• Extensive experience in multinational tax compliance and reporting, with at least one jurisdiction
• Proven track record in regional or global tax roles in an international company
• Skilled in managing and developing teams
• Fluent in English and German
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP, tax accounting, and financial reporting
• Confident communicator with leadership skills and a collaborative mindset
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management abilities
• Comfortable navigating cross-border teams and complex, fast-paced environments
