Job summary

Equation Recruitment Ltd is helping a fast-growing construction sector manufacturer in the UK recruit a Finance Manager who will own the finance function. The role offers £45,000–£50,000 DOE and requires strong CIS, VAT and HMRC knowledge, plus experience with Sage 50 and Sage Payroll and advanced Excel.

You will oversee accounting, payroll for 50+ staff, reporting, and compliance. You’ll work with senior leaders to shape financial strategy and ensure robust financial reporting and controls.

Qualifications

• Experience as Finance Manager in construction or similar sector.
• Strong knowledge of CIS, VAT (including reverse charge) and HMRC compliance.
• Proficiency with Sage 50 and Sage Payroll; advanced Excel skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all financial operations including accounting, reporting, payroll, and tax compliance.
• Manage CIS, VAT submissions and HMRC reporting.
• Produce monthly management accounts (P&L, accruals, forecasting) and oversee cashflow.
