Ashdown Group is recruiting a Finance Manager - Charity for a 4-day week (30 hours) with remote working and one day a month in our London office. The role blends hands-on accounting with systems improvement and change management, leading a small finance team.

You will oversee month-end, VAT, and reporting, drive finance system enhancements, and collaborate with stakeholders to streamline processes and introduce automation and AI where appropriate.

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant or QBE will be considered.
• Strong hands-on technical accounting experience.
• Experience improving finance systems, processes and reporting.
• Proven project management experience delivering system enhancements.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Ability to lead and develop a finance team.
• Proactive, strategic yet hands-on with a focus on automation.

Responsabilités

• Undertake hands-on financial and systems accounting activities, including VAT returns.
• Oversee and support the month-end process and reporting timeliness.
• Manage, support and develop members of the finance team.
• Review and improve existing finance systems, processes and controls.
• Identify opportunities to streamline processes and reduce manual work.
• Lead finance-related projects, including new system implementations.
• Improve financial reporting and management information.
• Collaborate with finance and non-finance stakeholders to implement improvements.
• Explore opportunities for automation, AI and other technologies to enhance financial management.
• Provide strong financial and systems expertise during organisational change.
