Job summary

Complete Childcare Ltd is seeking an experienced Finance Officer/Bookkeeper to lead financial management across a growing multi-site nursery business. This role focuses on robust financial controls and strategic liquidity management, reporting to the Group CEO.

The candidate should be detail-driven, with SME/multi-site finance exposure and strong accounting software proficiency, including Business Central or Xero. Excellent communication and organisational skills are essential.

Qualifications

Proven experience in finance management within an SME or multi-site environment.
Strong knowledge of UK accounting standards.
Competent Excel skills.
Familiarity with Business Central and/or Xero.
Excellent analytical, organisational, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

Process day-to-day finance including accounts payable, receivable, bank reconciliations, and month-end close.
Prepare monthly management accounts, variance analysis, and commentary for leadership.
Prepare annual budgets and rolling forecasts in collaboration with Operations and HR.
Monitor cash flow and working capital; implement strategies to optimise liquidity.
Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and statutory reporting.
Prepare for external audits and maintain compliance with sector funding.
