Job summary

Hays Senior Finance is assisting a Worcester-based client in recruiting a Finance Manager on a permanent basis. You will report to the Financial Controller and work with the SLT to manage day-to-day financial activities.

The role oversees monthly reporting, cash flow, budgeting, payroll and statutory compliance, with a focus on improving processes and providing commercial insight. Hybrid working and a competitive package are offered.

Qualifications

• Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) is required.
• Strong knowledge of management accounting, budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting.
• Experience managing cash flow, controls and commercial decision support.
• Excellent analytical skills and high attention to detail.
• Practical and hands-on approach to work.
• Highly proficient with Excel; Sage/Access advantageous.

Operating within the construction space, our client is an award-winning business with a broad range of expertise and project delivery across various sectors.

Your new role

Reporting into the Financial Controller and working closely with the SLT, you will be responsible for managing the company's day-to-day financial activities.

Key duties:

• Production of monthly management accounts and Board reports
• Leading cashflow management process and supporting with budgeting and forecasting
• Overseeing payroll, VAT returns and statutory reporting requirements
• Developing and improving financial processes, systems and reporting capabilities
• Aid strategic decision-making and help drive operational efficiency
• Providing commercial insight and recommendations to senior stakeholders

What you'll need to succeed

• Highly proficient with Excel (Pivot Tables, VLookUps, SumIFs etc.) and accounting software (Sage/Access highly advantageous)
