Job description

We are seeking an experienced Finance Manager / Financial Accountant for an Industrial Services firm in Tadcaster as they look to strengthen their Group Finance team. This role will lead a small team and take ownership of group reporting, month-end and year-end close, balance sheet integrity, and the coordination of the audit process.

Key responsibilities as Finance Manager will include:

• Report to the Financial Controller, with a dotted line to the CFO

• Lead the preparation and coordination of monthly management accounts

• Advise on monthly reporting and year-end financial submissions

• Review and challenge Group balance sheet reconciliations to ensure accuracy and integrity

• Strengthen and maintain effective accounting controls and governance frameworks

• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and compliance

• Support the UK external audit process by ensuring timely, accurate responses to audit queries

Ideally you will be able to demonstrate the below qualifications/experience:

• Fully qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, or ACA)

• Experience of working in manufacturing, engineering, or similar industrial environments

• Prior experience in a Finance Manager role is highly advantageous

• Strong technical accounting expertise and knowledge of UK accounting standards

• Ability to build effective working relationships and influence stakeholders across complex entities, and systems.

• Demonstrated leadership capability, with a proven track record in managing, coaching, and developing high-performing teams
