About Our Client

Leading retail client within Hertfordshire

Job Description

Responsibilities:

  1. Oversee the timely and accurate closure of period-end reporting, ensuring adherence to accounting standards and internal controls.
  2. Manage the finance team in producing financial reports, analysing costs, and handling the flash profit process.
  3. Prepare and post journals in both the general ledger and consolidation systems, ensuring all period-end tasks are completed on schedule.
  4. Lead the review of the company's P&L, working closely with senior management to ensure the period-end close is efficient and accurate.
  5. Provide technical guidance and support on complex transactions, including acquisitions and disposals, ensuring financials align with strategic business decisions.
  6. Act as the subject matter expert for cashflow, explaining key movements in management meetings and assisting with cashflow forecasting.
  7. Collaborate with internal teams, especially in business planning and budgeting, to drive continuous improvement in financial processes and reporting.

The Successful Applicant

Skills & Experience:

  1. ACA/ACCA or equivalent qualification with at least 2 years PQE.
  2. Experience in large practice firms or similar fast-paced, high-volume environments.
  3. Proven track record in period-end closing and managing complex financial processes.
  4. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to switch between high-level strategy and detailed financial analysis.
  5. Experience working with cross-functional teams and delivering results in a dynamic environment.
  6. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex financial concepts to non-finance stakeholders.
