Abbeygate Search Ltd is recruiting a hands-on Finance Manager in Watford for a growing technology-focused business. This broad, varied role offers responsibility across reporting, controls and day-to-day transactions.

You will manage monthly management accounts, budgeting and cashflow, while developing the finance function and supporting the wider business. Office-based, five days a week.

Qualifications

• Accounting qualification (ACCA/CIMA/ACA) required.
• Experience as Finance Manager, Management Accountant or similar.
• Strong month-end, balance sheet reconciliations and reporting.
• Budgeting, forecasting and cashflow reporting experience.
• Experience using Microsoft Dynamics; Excel proficiency.
• SME experience in a growing business preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts with variance analysis.
• Manage month-end processes: journals, accruals, prepayments and reconciliations.
• Assist budgeting, forecasting and cashflow management.
• Oversee purchase and sales ledgers and bank reconciliations.
• Maintain accurate records and strong financial controls.

• Identify opportunities to improve finance processes and reporting.
• Support the use of Microsoft Dynamics.
• Collaborate across the business on financial matters.
• Assist with year-end accounts and audit preparation.

We're recruiting a hands-on Finance Manager for a growing business in Watford. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Finance Manager or Management Accountant looking for a broad, varied role with plenty of responsibility and the chance to contribute to a developing finance function.

Our client operates within the technology sector and is expanding its UK operations. They're looking for a practical, approachable Finance Manager who enjoys working closely with the numbers, improving processes and supporting the wider business.

The Finance Manager will be responsible for management accounts, month-end reporting, budgeting, forecasting and financial controls, alongside supporting day-to-day transactional finance activities.

This position would suit someone who enjoys working in a growing business where no two days are quite the same.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Preparing monthly management accounts, including variance analysis and commentary.
• Managing month-end processes, including journals, accruals, prepayments and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Supporting budgeting, forecasting and cashflow management.
• Overseeing purchase ledger, sales ledger, bank reconciliations and other transactional finance activities.
• Maintaining accurate financial records and effective financial controls.
• Producing financial reports and providing analysis to support business decisions.
• Identifying opportunities to improve finance processes, systems and reporting.
• Supporting the development and effective use of Microsoft Dynamics.
• Working closely with colleagues across the business on financial matters.
• Assisting with year-end accounts and audit preparation.

ABOUT YOU

We're looking for a Finance Manager or experienced Management Accountant with a strong technical foundation and a willingness to get involved in the day-to-day running of the finance function.

• An accounting qualification (ACCA, CIMA or ACA).
• Previous experience as a Finance Manager, Management Accountant or Assistant Finance Manager.
• Strong month-end, management accounts and balance sheet reconciliation experience.
• Experience of budgeting, forecasting and cashflow reporting.
• Previous experience using Microsoft Dynamics, ideally Dynamics 365 or Business Central.
• Strong Excel skills and a good understanding of financial systems.
• Experience working within an SME, operational or growing business environment.
• A practical, organised approach and the confidence to work independently.

WHAT'S ON OFFER?

• Salary of £55,000 - £60,000, depending on experience.
