Job summary

Elite Hire Solutions is seeking an experienced Finance Manager for a Warwick-based role in a growing mechanical & electrical contracting business. You will lead finance operations, supervise staff, and work closely with the MD and project managers to drive financial performance.

The role requires ACCA/CIMA or equivalent qualification, 5+ years in a similar role, and strong knowledge of Sage 50 Cloud and Excel. On-site parking, pension and a health plan are offered.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years' experience in a Finance Manager role within construction or a similar-sized contracting business.
• ACA or CIMA qualified.
• Strong knowledge of Sage 50 Cloud Professional and Microsoft Excel.
• Good understanding of CIS, VAT and Domestic Reverse Charge VAT (DRC).
• Experience supervising finance staff and meeting deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Oversee purchase and sales ledgers, supplier payments and credit control.
• Manage monthly applications for payment, retentions and payment chasing.
• Oversee subcontractor invoices and CIS deductions.
• Prepare VAT and CIS returns, including DRC.
• Complete bank, balance sheet and general ledger reconciliations.
• Manage cash flow reporting, monthly job costing and financial analysis.
• Prepare year-end accounts and support external audits.
• Manage accruals, prepayments, fixed assets and depreciation.
• Supervise the Accounts Assistant and maintain financial controls.
• Collaborate with MD and Project Managers on financial performance.

Finance Manager

Location: Warwick

Salary: £45,000-£55,000 DOE

Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:30am-5:00pm

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

The Opportunity

We are recruiting an experienced Finance Manager to join an established Mechanical & Electrical building services contractor based in Warwick, with a turnover of approximately £15 million.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee purchase and sales ledgers, supplier payments and credit control.
• Manage monthly applications for payment, retentions and payment chasing.
• Oversee subcontractor invoices and CIS deductions.
• Prepare VAT and CIS returns, including Domestic Reverse Charge VAT (DRC).

About You

• At least 5 years' experience in a Finance Manager role within construction or a similar-sized contracting business.
• ACA or CIMA qualified.
• Strong knowledge of Sage 50 Cloud Professional and Microsoft Excel.
• Good understanding of CIS, VAT and Domestic Reverse Charge VAT.
• Previous experience managing or supervising finance staff.
• Strong commercial awareness, attention to detail and excellent organisational skills.
• Confident managing deadlines, cash flow and credit control.
• Knowledge of Cypher software would be advantageous, although training can be provided.
