The role
As a Finance Manager, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. A major infrastructure investment programme is underway at the Devonport site to support future MOD ship and submarine programmes.

The Major Infrastructure Projects (MIP) Business Unit has been created to manage a portfolio of facility development projects, including the design, construction, and commissioning of docking and berthing facilities for Astute Class submarine maintenance activities.

Day-to-day, you'll provide financial services and collaborate with operational managers daily to ensure the achievement of financial performance targets, focusing on cost management and contract performance delivery.

  • Oversee monthly, quarterly, and 5-year financial reporting.
  • Apply appropriate accounting standards, including IFRS 15.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders for timely information sharing.
  • Ensure financial control and governance, adhering to regulated standards.
  • Lead initiatives to improve financial reporting consistency and efficiency.

This role is full time, 35 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements.

Essential experience of the Finance Manager

  • Proven experience in finance management, business partnering, and financial reporting within a large corporation.
  • In-depth knowledge of financial systems.
  • Advanced Excel proficiency and data analysis skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills.
  • Experience in managing and driving change initiatives.
  • IFRS 15 long term contract accounting knowledge.

Qualifications for the Finance Manager

  • Qualified Accountant, ACA/ACMA/ACCA qualification.
