Clacton-on-Sea £45,000 - £50,000 Full-Time Office-Based
An established and growing business is seeking an experienced Finance Manager to join its finance team. Reporting directly to the CFO, this is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded finance professional to take ownership of core accounting and reporting activities while contributing to the continued development and improvement of the finance function.
This is a broad and varied position, ideally suited to someone who enjoys a hands-on role, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and is confident managing both technical financial reporting and day-to-day finance operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly management accounts and deliver accurate financial reporting packs.
- Manage the month-end close process, including accruals, prepayments, journals, and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Maintain and monitor the fixed asset register.
- Support year-end reporting activities and the preparation of statutory accounts.
- Coordinate external audits and act as the primary point of contact for auditors.
- Review, enhance, and implement financial controls, processes, and reporting procedures.
- Oversee daily finance operations and provide support to the wider finance team.
- Ensure all reporting deadlines are achieved, delivering accurate and timely financial information.
- Provide financial analysis, insight, and support to senior leadership and key stakeholders.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across the finance function.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will possess:
- A minimum of five years' accounting experience within a commercial or industry-based environment.
- Part-qualified, fully qualified (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA), or Qualified by Experience (QBE).
- Strong experience preparing monthly management accounts.
- A thorough understanding of month-end and year-end accounting processes.
- Experience supporting external audits and liaising effectively with auditors.
- Excellent organisational skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships across all levels of the business.
- A proactive and self-motivated approach, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- A continuous improvement mindset and a desire to add value beyond routine financial reporting.
Salary & Benefits
