Job description

Location: North West England, Greater Manchester, Stockport

Job Type: Contract, Full-Time, 4 days per week on site/1 WFH

Resourcery Group are working with a PE backed SME company with growth ambition for 2025 and beyond. Due to maternity leave, our client is looking to bring on board a qualified accountant with strong management accounting skills for a 9 month period. Your role will be to support the Finance Director with the day to day running on the finance team and delivering quality insights behind the numbers to be presented to the Heads of Departments.

Job Duties:
  • Month-end and preparation of monthly management accounts
  • Year end audit and tax pack completion
  • Reconciling and processing intercompany charges
  • Preparing and posting journals to the general ledger
  • Balance sheet reconciliations
  • Maintaining data in central company databases
  • Testing and evaluating improvements of central company databases
  • Preparation of weekly cash flow forecast
  • Supporting continued development of finance team members
  • Continuous improvement to in all areas of financial control and reporting
  • Ad-hoc projects to support the financial controller and wider Finance team
  • Line management of Management Accountant and Purchase Ledger Manager
  • Supervise the finance team and ensure efficient operations
  • Collaborate with internal departments and external stakeholders
Required Qualifications:
  • Proven experience as a Finance Manager or similar role with strong hands on management accounting skills
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial regulations
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proven mentoring skills for junior staff in the team
  • Advanced proficiency in financial software and MS Excel and Sage 200
