Hutcheon Mearns have been engaged exclusively to source a Finance Manager on a staff basis. Our client is a highly successful, growing SME with operations across the UK. This newly created role will be based in Aberdeen City Centre and is offered on a full time or part time basis. Our client offers flexible working, career development and a competitive salary.
This is a broad, varied and hands-on role which will see you oversee all aspects of the finance function and manage a small team. The role is suited to an experienced Accountant/Finance Manager with experience working in an SME environment. This is an exciting role where you will be part of a growing, highly successful business with exciting plans for the future.
The Opportunity Maintaining the accuracy and integrity of accounting recordsImplementing new processes and improving current procedures including management of financial controlsApproval and ownership of balance sheet reconciliations including development of overall processManage the customer invoicing and collection processManage the coding of supplier invoices and ensuring that costs are properly allocatedDealing with vendors and managing payment expectationsPreparation of month end journal entriesMonitor cash position and prepare Cash-flow forecastsAd hoc analysis and reportsOversee the payrollManage relationships and customer/supplier accounting contactsAccurately perform cash functions, including A/P and A/R tracking, payroll transactions, expense management and various reconciliationsBudget preparation and reviewPreparing the group year end financial statements and associated disclosuresVAT / Tax preparation and submission and liaise with advisorsPreparation of statutory accounts
Background and ExperiencePrevious experience of working in a hands-on role in a small, growing businessProven track record in building financial processes and procedures in a growing companyProven track record of overseeing a small Finance TeamQualified Accountant or QBEIndependent with ability to work to deadlinesAbility to communicate effectively with different stakeholdersAbility to evaluate solutions in terms of business, financial and client impactsKnowledge in MS Office, particularly ExcelKnowledge in Accounting Software – specifically XERO or similarHands on approach
