The Financial team is a centralised finance team working closely with the Services to provide financial advice and expertise. You will play a crucial role in supporting the objectives of the Finance Team by building relationships, maintaining value for money, and introducing innovative ways of working.
We have an exciting vacancy within our team to continue building on our success and to bring new experience, knowledge, and ideas. We operate in a hybrid manner, combining office days with remote work, with a minimum of two days per week in the office.
You will collaborate with other Finance Managers and be responsible for effective cost management, budget review, and identifying efficiencies across the revenue budgets of the Place and Resources & Transformation Directorates, along with your team.
This role involves managing a team responsible for the Place Directorate.
If you have a proven track record of achieving solutions, are eager to make a difference, and want to be part of a strong team culture, we would like to hear from you. We seek an enthusiastic individual who can operate within a team to deliver results in support of the wider finance team. You should be proactive, dynamic, motivated, and capable of meeting strict deadlines.
You must be a fully qualified accountant (or qualified through experience) with extensive accounting and commercial experience, including funding models, management accounting, budgeting, and forecasting. Significant experience in business partnering across finance and non-finance teams, preparing budgets and forecasts, and strong communication skills are essential. Previous experience working in a Local Authority is not necessarily required.
Please include in your covering letter or supporting statement how your skills and experience meet the role's requirements.
