Job Description
- Manage and lead the finance team, including financial analysts, accountants, and other finance professionals, providing guidance and support as needed.
- Oversee the preparation of financial statements, reports, and forecasts, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
- Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and controls to safeguard company assets, mitigate risks, and improve efficiency and effectiveness.
- Monitor financial performance and key performance indicators (KPIs), identifying trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement, and providing actionable insights to senior management.
- Coordinate and support the annual budgeting and planning process, working closely with department heads to establish financial targets and objectives.
- Manage cash flow, liquidity, and working capital to optimise financial resources and support business operations and growth initiatives.
- Stay up-to-date on changes in accounting standards, regulations, and industry trends, and implement necessary updates to financial policies and procedures.
The Successful Applicant
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in finance or accounting roles, with at least 2 years in a managerial or leadership position.
- Strong knowledge of financial principles, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Proficiency in financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling.
- Excellent leadership and people management skills, with the ability to inspire, motivate, and develop teams.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present complex financial information clearly to senior management and stakeholders.
- Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on driving results and achieving business objectives.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial management software.
- Ability to prioritise tasks, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- May be working towards an accountancy degree.
