Location: Portsmouth, Hampshire or Plymouth, Devon or Bristol + Hybrid Working Arrangements

Compensation: Up to £70,000 (Dependent on Experience) + Benefits

The Role

As a Finance Manager, you will be responsible for Fixed and Lease asset accounting, ensuring best practices, standardization, and effective controls. You will work within the Central Accounting team in the newly formed Finance Business Services (FBS) department, serving as a key contact internally and externally regarding Fixed and Lease Asset accounting across the Group.

  • Manage a small team of Fixed and Lease Asset accountants.
  • Oversee the Group’s IFRS 16 BPC tool and related accounting processes, including interfacing with ERP systems.
  • Partner with lease asset stakeholders internally and externally for lease management and maintenance.
  • Serve as the central contact for Fixed and Lease Assets in the UK and coordinate with colleagues in France, Canada, and Australia, especially regarding aircraft assets.
  • Collaborate with the capital investment team on capital expenditure proposals, ensuring timely approval to support the delivery of the capex portfolio.

This role is full-time, 37.5 hours per week, with hybrid working arrangements: one day in the office and four days remote. Flexible working options, including part-time, condensed hours, and job sharing, may also be considered.

Essential Experience
  • Experience managing and developing a team within a Finance function, ideally in a complex international environment.
  • Proven ability to review and improve finance processes.
  • Technical finance skills, including understanding IAS 16 Property, Plant and Equipment, and IFRS 16 Lease Accounting.
  • Commercial awareness and understanding of the business environment.
  • Experience with Finance IT applications such as SAP, NAV (Navision), IFS, etc.
Qualifications
  • Recognized accounting qualification (ACCA, ACA, ACMA, CIMA, ICAEW, ICAS) or equivalent.
Security Clearance

The successful candidate must be able to obtain and maintain Security Check (SC) clearance. Some roles may be subject to national security and trade restrictions based on nationality, residency, or citizenship.
