Job summary

COREcruitment is recruiting for an experienced Finance Manager / Financial Controller in Stadhampton, Oxfordshire. This initial 3-month contract offers a hands-on finance professional the chance to drive robust controls, accurate reporting and smooth month-end close.

You will own the month-end close, oversee reconciliations, manage management accounts, and support budgeting, forecasting and commercial decision-making in a fast-paced hospitality environment.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as Finance Manager, Financial Controller or Senior Management Accountant.
• Experience with month-end close and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Excellent Excel skills and experience with ERP/accounting systems.
• ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification or qualified by experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of the month-end close process, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
• Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations, resolving issues.
• Oversee management accounts, accruals, prepayments, journals and variance analysis.
• Ensure strong financial controls and identify opportunities to improve processes and reporting.
• Partner with operational teams to provide financial insight and support commercial decision-making.
• Support cash flow management, budgeting and forecasting activities.
• Review finance processes and implement improvements where appropriate.
• Provide leadership to the finance team and support finance projects.

We\'re recruiting on behalf of a growing hospitality business for an experienced Finance Manager / Financial Controller to join their team on an initial 3-month contract, with the potential for extension.

Based in Stadhampton, Oxfordshire, this is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on finance professional to support the business through a key period, ensuring robust financial controls, accurate reporting, and the successful delivery of month-end and year-end processes.

Please note this is an initial 3-month contract with the possibility of extension.

The Role:

• Take ownership of the month-end close process, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.


• Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations, investigating and resolving any outstanding issues.


• Oversee management accounts, accruals, prepayments, journals and variance analysis.


• Ensure strong financial controls are in place while identifying opportunities to improve processes and reporting.


• Partner with operational teams to provide financial insight and support commercial decision-making.


• Support cash flow management, budgeting and forecasting activities.


• Review finance processes, identifying efficiencies and implementing improvements where appropriate.


• Provide leadership and guidance to the finance team while supporting business-critical finance projects as required.

What our client is looking for:

• Proven experience as a Finance Manager, Financial Controller or Senior Management Accountant.


• Strong technical accounting knowledge with excellent month-end and balance sheet reconciliation experience.


• Confident analysing financial data and producing meaningful management information.


• Excellent Excel skills and experience working with ERP/accounting systems.


• A proactive, hands-on approach with the ability to hit the ground running in a fast-paced environment.


• Hospitality, leisure or multi-site experience would be highly advantageous.


• ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified (or qualified by experience) preferred.
