An established industry player is looking for a proactive Finance Manager to join their leadership team on a part-time basis. This hybrid role offers flexibility and the opportunity to manage financial operations for a school and its associated organisations. The ideal candidate will have experience in statutory financial management and be confident in using cloud-based finance systems. This meaningful position allows you to contribute directly to children's education and environmental learning, all within a supportive and values-led environment. If you're looking for a role that combines financial expertise with a purpose-driven mission, this is the opportunity for you.
We are seeking a skilled and proactive Finance Manager to join our leadership team on a part-time basis (21 hours per week, flexible across school opening hours). This hybrid role (home-based with occasional travel to our school and affiliated sites) offers an excellent opportunity to take ownership of the financial management of our school and its two alternative provision organisations, Saddleworth Environmental Education and SEE (Juniors) CIC. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you'll play a key strategic role, providing financial advice and support to senior leaders, managing payroll, cashflow, budgeting, statutory accounts, and monthly reporting. The postholder will also work very closely with our Development Manager on funding and investment applications. You'll oversee systems using Dext and Xero, ensure full compliance with HMRC and VAT obligations, liaise with banks and service providers, and contribute to funding reviews and risk management.
This role is ideal for an experienced finance professional who enjoys working autonomously and collaboratively within a purpose-driven, nurturing environment. We're looking for someone who is confident with cloud-based finance systems, experienced in statutory financial management, and able to clearly communicate financial information to non-specialist colleagues. In return, we offer a flexible and meaningful role in a values-led organisation, where your expertise will directly support children's education and environmental learning. Whilst you will not be employed on a term-time basis, you will benefit from additional time off during the school year during periods when the school will be shut for school holidays.
