St John’s School is seeking an experienced Finance Manager to join the Bursar’s team and oversee daily financial operations. The role focuses on payments, income, fee billing and accurate reporting, with a strong emphasis on internal controls.

The candidate should have proven finance experience, strong IT skills (Excel and accounting software), and familiarity with an educational environment is preferred. Part-time, term-time plus 3 weeks and INSET.

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Finance Manager to play a key role in supporting the continue success of our thriving independent school.

Working closely with the Bursar, the successful candidate will take ownership of the School’s day-to-day financial operations, ensuring robust financial controls and accurate reporting. This varied and rewarding role includes overseeing payments and income, managing fee billing and financial records, supporting budgeting and reporting, and helping to ensure the smooth and efficient running of the School.

We are looking for a finance professional with excellent organisational skills, strong attention to detail and the ability to build positive relationships with colleagues, parents and suppliers. Experience in a similar finance role is essential and school experience would be advantageous.
